A Call For Video

AHETI will host the “Uniting Faith and Science to Eliminate Cervical Cancer in Africa” event, bringing together policymakers, representatives of relevant intergovernmental organizations, the international community of educators, private sector representatives, non-profit and government organizations, leading health companies, researchers, practitioners, and doctors. The event will facilitate a comprehensive discussion on the current state of cervical cancer and HPV vaccination in Africa, addressing the unprecedented rise in cervical cancer cases across the continent.

Participants will explore strategies to promote the development of vaccines and implement targeted actions to combat cervical cancer. This collaborative effort aims to put Africa on track for significant advancements in public health.

We invite the international community to take an active role in shaping the future of women’s health in Africa. Share your research findings, exchange ideas with policymakers and partners, engage with health practitioners, expand your professional network, and find inspiration to drive change.

VIDEO SUBMISSION GUIDE

We accept submissions of high-quality MP4 videos that exhibit original and unpublished outcomes of conceptual, constructive, experimental, and theoretical work or research on the following Specific and Sub-Objectives:  

 
Specific Objective 1: Collaborative Knowledge Building 

Sub-Objective 2: Capacity Building for Faith Leaders 

Sub-Objective 3: Community-Centric Advocacy 

Specific Objective 4: Quality Assurance of HPV Vaccines 

The submission of a video indicates that it is not being considered for publication or presentation elsewhere.

You are invited to submit your video abstract to the Uniting Faith and Science to Eliminate Cervical Cancer in Africa conference, convening from 11th to 13th June 2024 at Radisson Blu Hotel, Nairobi, Kenya. 

 

Please submit your video abstract for evaluation by the organizing committee. If accepted, you must submit a full-length video presentation. The complete presentation will be considered for future publication opportunities. Otherwise, only your video abstract will appear in the proceedings.

We accept the submission of high-quality MP4 videos presenting original and unpublished results of conceptual, constructive, experimental, and theoretical work or research in all the topic areas mentioned. Submission of a video implies that it is not under consideration for publication or presentation elsewhere. 

Video Submission Guidelines 

Reviewing Process: 

All video submissions will be subjected to a double-blind peer review and are expected to meet the scientific criteria of novelty and academic excellence. The submitting presenter is responsible for ensuring that the video's content has been approved by all co-presenters and takes responsibility for the video during submission and peer review. The publisher will not be held legally responsible should there be any claims for compensation. 

Language: 

The audio in the video should be in English. Both American and British usage are accepted, but not a mixture of both. Presenters who feel their English language presentation may require editing to eliminate possible grammatical or pronunciation errors and to conform to correct scientific English may wish to use relevant editing apps or services.

Academic Ethics 

Videos submitted to the conference should report original and previously unpublished findings. Adherence to ethical conduct is critical in the academic world. Hence, any act of plagiarism cannot be tolerated. If a presenter is found to commit an act of plagiarism, the submission will be automatically dismissed.

All MP4 video submissions will be subjected to double-blind peer reviews. Factors considered in the evaluation process include relevancy, structure, research method, ethical conduct, language standard, innovativeness, references, hypothesis, result presentation, proficiency, and format, among others. 

Videos that are accepted, will be published in the Conference Proceedings. 

 Instructions for Video Presentation 

The length of the video presentation should be around 15 minutes. You can use any form of presentation you wish. We will provide the necessary technical support upon request. Please ensure your video meets the technical requirements for submission. 

Modes of Presentation 

The program committee will schedule all sessions for video presentations. 

Video Sessions 

  • The presentation times for video sessions are as follows: contributed presentations should be around 15 minutes. 
  • Please note: You must submit your video for preloading. Submit your video (in English, copy-edited, and proofread) via email to [email address] no later than 10 business days before the event starts. 
  • If you are unable to send your video in advance of the conference, please have your video available on USB storage. 

Virtual Sessions 

The conference program for virtual presentations will be emailed to participants one week before the conference. Virtual presentations will be delivered via an online electronic forum (Webinar). Virtual session attendees will receive the webinar invitation link a few days before the conference. Joining the webinar session is easy and takes just a few seconds. Simply click the link in the invitation to join your session immediately. Remember to register first if you wish to attend as a virtual presenter.
